Today, very few of these mills remain, making our trapiche a unique attraction. Here, you can try your hand at extracting fresh cane juice.
7. Sarapiquí River:
Just 50 meters from our farm, the beautiful Sarapiquí River awaits. Perfect for a refreshing dip, the river is surrounded by trees and rocks, providing excellent views and a peaceful environment. 8. Solar Oven:
We use a solar oven to aid in the drying process for certain crops like pepper and coffee. Utilizing the natural sunlight abundant in Sarapiquí, our solar oven helps speed up the drying process by concentrating heat in one area.
9. Scenic Trails:
Our farm features trails made from natural or recycled materials, taking you through our sugar cane plantations and a small forest. You’ll even find the famous “sugar cane tunnel,” an exclusive path through our fields. The lush, green trails will lead you through all our crops and to the Sarapiquí River. 10. Traditional Processing Techniques:
Join us for special events on designated days when we process sugar cane to make “tapas de dulce” (a type of unrefined sugar) or “saca de guaro” (a traditional alcoholic drink). These events are held periodically at our farm. Contact us to find out when the next processing day is scheduled.
